| TRAIN & PLAY Do more for your dog than just a mid-day walk or play break! The Pet Teacher will come to your home and combine a customized training session followed by play time! Your dog gets the best of both worlds! You want your dog to be schooled with the right positive reinforcement techniques, yet you don’t always have time to commit to training sessions. The Pet Teacher’s Train & Play session are your answer! I’ll come to your home, spend 40 minutes teaching and practicing with your dog, then follow it with a 20 minute play break for a 60 minute total session. The initial sessions must be purchased in groups of 5 sessions @ $45 each (check), $35 each (cash). The first session will be used to meet you and your dog, find out what your dog knows and your goals, sign the contract, get the keys, and allow me to spend some time alone with your dog while you are home so I can design a training plan and your dog can feel comfortable with me. The last session will be used to meet again with you to show you what we’ve worked on. Going forward, then, the sessions can be purchased in minimum groups of 4 - three sessions for practice, and one session to meet with you to show you how to practice with your dog. I can create a customized plan reflective of your goals. Maybe you want your dog to learn some tricks, or walk better on leash, or come when called, stay at the door. The possibilities are endless! Some issues that are not appropriate for Train & Play sessions:
NOTE: Train & Play has helped some dogs with mild separation anxiety because it stimulates thinking which may help your dog to focus on something other than his/her fears. At our first session, here’s what we need to accomplish:

| PACKAGE POLICIES PLEASE NOTE: In order to maintain these low fees, the same policies as a group class apply: These Package classes are a standardized curriculum and cannot be altered, the same as astandardized group class curriculum. A standardized curriculum allows me to stay within the one hour allotted class time. Customizing requires more one-on-one time, which will cause these particular package sessions to go longer. If you need something other than this standardized curriculum, consider the Customized Session appointment for personalized training. In order to accommodate other students, it is necessary for me to hold to the one hour session. When you call to enroll, we will schedule the four session dates which will occur once/week at the same time and day. Just like a group class, these dates/times cannot be changed or re-scheduled without forfeiture. The only exception to this is illness. With the Swine Flu fears, please call me to re-schedule if you or any of your family members are ill - and I will do the same for you. We will then re-schedule the remaining sessions which must complete in 60 days no refunds for sessions not re-scheduled. Please be aware that if I show up and someone in your home is ill, it will be necessary for me to leave and you will forfeit the session. If your dog is ill, please call me to re-schedule no later than four hours ahead of our session time, or the session will be forfeited. In a traditional group class, there is no refund for a dog's illness or spay/neuter surgery and you forfeit the class - or are welcome to attend the class without your dog. I'm happy to be more flexible than that group policy if your dog is ill, but there is no refund on remaining classes. Please schedule spay/neuter surgery after we've completed our sessions because there is usually a two-week window where we cannot work after the surgery. Please schedule sessions to complete before your dog goes into heat. Female dogs in heat often have a difficult time focusing on learning and you will get more out of your session if your dog is not in heat. There is no re-schedule for dogs in heat, just as in a traditional group class. Sessions are one hour each including a 10 minute Q&A period that can be used either at the beginning or the end of the session, with 50 minutes of instruction/practice on that session's lesson plan. Sessions are designed to work with the same handler (one only) each week. Other family members may attend and also participate as long as we stay within the one hour. If you would like to go longer on a particular exercise, we will go longer at that session, picking up the curriculum where we left off at the next session, then add an additional session to accommodate what is remaining. There is no changing the curriculum exercises to a different session in other words, no moving exercises or I won't be able to maintain the group fee rate. All packages must be paid in full at the first session no exceptions please. I accept checks or cash paying with cash will result in an additional savings (see the package descriptions). There are no refunds after the first session. All standardized handouts are contained in the Dog Sense document, which will be emailed to you after completion of session one. Customized recaps of our session may be purchased for an additional fee of $25/session. This offer is good for any area that I can service, and the first 10 miles (20 miles round trip) is included as part of the total fee. Areas beyond 10 miles from 48320 will be charged a small mileage fee of $.38/mile round trip. The mileage fee for the total number of sessions is due with the class fee at the first session. Please provide for our sessions: - a 6' leather or nylon leash - a leather or nylon flat collar - SOFT training treats (no hard cookies or dog dry food, please) - a 40' long line for Adult 2 and Adult 3 |
